Welcome to the BSYG 2011 Blog/Home Page

In November 2009 the Swedish Baltic Sea Youth Games 2011 LOC Skåneidrotten* have formed a steering committee with representatives from Skåneidrotten board and employees, the Klippan municipality** and the main accomodation and sport center of Ljungbyhed Park (follow the link to learn more).

We now work hard with the primary target of creating all necessary conditions for the BSYG in 2011. Naturally the arenas, accomodation and sports LOCs are in focus.
But number one prio now is the pre games conference for delegates (calender conference) which Skåneidrotten will host the 19th and 20th of March 2010. The conference will start with arrivals Friday afternoon/early evening with the first set time at 19:00 (dinner). The program will be posted and sent out very soon but all activities are to be held att the BSYG 2011 area in Ljungbyhed. A pick up service in central Malmö will be arranged for Friday approx 16:30 and and go back to central Malmö for a drop of at approx 17:30-18:00 in Malmö on Saturday. For those who wish to stay in Malmö until Sunday (at his/her own expense) we will be able to arrange for such bookings and maybe a relaxed joint program. Hopefully the information above is enough for planning trips to and from Malmö (for flying Copenhagen and Malmö airport are equally good opportunities). In other case please post a comment or email us. More detailed information on program and on how to register will come very soon!

Skåneidrotten early decided we wanted BSYG 2011 to be a olympic village experince with most athletes living and competing close to each other. We have therefor sign a letter of intent with Ljungbyhed Park (map) which is and old army camp but now is a modern meeting, training and relaxation centre, located close to the nature. Ljungbyhed Park’s Sport Camp involves sport facilities, football fields, gym, wrestling halls, 800 beds and the Golf Centre. The sport camp suits for training camps and sport arrangements in several sports. In connection to the park there is also fishing possibilities and fantastic hiking trails at Söderåsen national park. There is even an airport within the park. Travel to and from Ljungbyhed is however best done via Copenhagen or Malmö airports.
